University Health is seeking an Environmental Services Operating Room Technician (EVS OR Tech) for the UH Truman Medical Center in Kansas City, MO. This full-time role focuses on cleaning and preparing surgical spaces between procedures to support patient safety and sterile environments.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Some hands-on housekeeping experience; hospital setting preferred.
• Willingness to complete special training for surgical area cleaning.
• Know-how with vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and more.
• Attention to detail and ability to follow instructions.
• Ability to supervise a small crew when needed.

Responsibilities

• Clean Operating Rooms and surgical areas after procedures.
• Operate vacuums, scrubbers, polishers, and other pro-level tools.
• Use cleaners appropriate for each surface to avoid streaks or damage.
• Maintain fresh, clean smells and adhere to infection prevention protocols.
• Collaborate with Environmental Services, Infection Prevention, and OR staff.
• Occasionally lead the team and keep the group on track.
