Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health seeks an OR Equipment Technician to promote smooth OR operations by maintaining equipment, transporting patients to the OR, and assisting with sterile processing. The role emphasizes patient privacy, safety, and teamwork in a fast-paced healthcare setting.

Under supervision of the OR Service Coordinator and nurse manager, you will monitor equipment, document activities, and stay current with required certifications, including BLS within 60 days.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• BLS certification within 60 days of entering position.
• Experience in health care setting preferred.
• Knowledge of aseptic techniques and hospital supplies.

Responsibilities

• Maintains BLS certification current and completes ABT annually.
• Communicates with OR team and uses radio etiquette to coordinate activities.
• Keeps Sterile Rooms stocked and maintains proper specimen delivery timing.
• Assists in setup of OR equipment and cleans rooms per guidelines.
• Supports on-call requirements during weekends/holidays when needed.
• Follows HIPAA and patient confidentiality policies.
