Job summary

Hackensack Meridian Health is seeking an Anesthesia Technician to support anesthesiologists and nurse anesthetists with equipment setup and monitoring for surgical cases. The role requires proficiency in preparing infusion sets, connecting monitoring lines, and drawing arterial blood gases.

Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, organizing the anesthesia workroom, assisting with patient positioning for regional anesthesia, and ensuring sterile practice throughout the OR.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• Experience in the OR and familiarity with OR supplies and hospital setting.
• Knowledge of sterile technique, asepsis, and the ability to apply such skills.

Responsibilities

• Participates as a full member of the anesthesia team, providing procedures and techniques during anesthesia, including emergencies.
• Maintains and calibrates/analyzes equipment and monitors used in the operating room.
• Collects blood specimens using aseptic techniques and follows safety requirements.
• Identifies educational needs and arranges in-service training with anesthesia leadership and vendors.
