Job summary

ManpowerGroup's client in Charlotte, NC seeks an Operating Engineer to join the Facilities Maintenance team. You will operate, maintain, and repair building systems across mechanical, electrical, plumbing, fire and life-safety domains, ensuring reliable operation and safety compliance.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or GED, 2–4 years' relevant experience, EPA 608 certification, and proficiency with work orders and basic Word/Excel.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED required.
• 2-4 years experience maintaining/commercial building systems.
• EPA 608 Universal Certification.
• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot MEP and HVAC systems.
• Proficient with work order systems and basic Windows software.

Responsibilities

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across various systems.
• Perform preventive maintenance on Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems.
• Monitor equipment performance and make adjustments for optimal operation.
• Manage inventory, purchase supplies, and oversee contracted maintenance.
• Ensure safety policies and a clean, hazard-free environment.

Our client, a leading organization in commercial property management, is seeking an Operating Engineer to join their team. As an Operating Engineer, you will be part of the Facilities Maintenance Department supporting the building operations team. The ideal candidate will have strong communication skills, technical proficiency, and a proactive attitude, which will align successfully in the organization.

Job Title: Operating Engineer

Location: Charlotte, NC

Pay Range: $32 to $36 per hour

What's the Job?

• Operate, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair facility equipment across various systems

• Perform preventive maintenance on Mechanical, Plumbing, Fire, Life Safety, and Control systems

• Monitor and record equipment performance, making adjustments to ensure optimal operation

• Manage inventory, purchase supplies, and oversee contracted maintenance work

• Ensure compliance with safety policies and maintain a clean, hazard-free work environment

What's Needed?

• High School diploma or GED equivalent

• 2-4 years of experience maintaining and repairing commercial building systems

• EPA 608 Universal Certification

• Ability to analyze and troubleshoot Mechanical, Electrical, Plumbing, and HVAC systems
