Job summary

Beyond New Horizons is seeking an Operating Engineer to support the Arnold Air Force Base's Test Operations and Sustainment activities. The role involves mechanical, electrical, and facility operations in a high-hazard testing environment.

The OE will prepare equipment, troubleshoot, operate during tests, and maintain systems while following safety procedures and PPE requirements. US citizenship and security access are required.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• Four years of operating engineer experience in aeronautical test facility ops or 6 years in related mechanical trades.
• Must have valid state driver's license.
• Must obtain/maintain certification to operate forklifts, JLGs and overhead cranes.
• Must read/write/communicate in English to safely follow technical manuals and procedures.
• Must be able to obtain security clearance and access AEDC network.
• U.S. Citizenship required due to DoD contract requirements.

Responsibilities

• Prepare plant equipment for operations.
• Troubleshoot equipment and malfunctions.
• Operate plant equipment during tests.
• Install and maintain facility systems.
• Perform maintenance to keep test facility equipment in operation.
• Use diverse hand and machine tools and testing equipment.
• Instruct lower-grade craftsmen.
• Wear PPE as directed.
