Job summary

Beyond New Horizons, LLC (BNH) has multiple openings for Test Operations Engineer supporting the AEDC at Arnold Air Force Base, TN. The role focuses on operating and maintaining ground test facilities within a joint team dedicated to national defense test execution.

Qualifications

• BS degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering from an accredited college or university.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance and the AEDC local area network.
• U.S. Citizenship is required for employment at AEDC per Air Force security requirements.

Responsibilities

• Test Bed Operations: Operate advanced test bed systems and direct hands-on system checkouts and active testing sequences.
• System Engineering & Design: Serve as the dedicated system engineer for assigned facility equipment, executing minor design and analysis tasks to ensure optimal performance.
• Operational Planning: Develop critical test operational requirements and detailed run programs, ensuring test article mounts are structurally sound.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with a diverse team of engineers, physicists, and craft technicians to operate facility systems.
• Rapid Incident Response: Master complex systems to rapidly respond to alarms and alerts, ensuring safety of crew, facility, and test article.
• Live Troubleshooting: Diagnose system malfunctions during active testing and lead corrective maintenance or escalation.
• Craft Workforce Leadership: Provide technical leadership to the craft workforce for work orders and LOTO procedures.
• Comprehensive Documentation: Maintain accurate operation logs, test resumes, and incident reports.
• Facility Calibration: Perform facility characterizations and calibrations to maintain accurate system maps.
