Job summary

Testing Xperts is seeking an IVR Developer to join our team for a 6–12 month engagement. You will design and implement IVR/Speech applications using VXML, GRXML, and Java, with emphasis on DTMF, natural language dialogs, and TTS/ASR integration.

Strong grammar design and speech tuning skills are essential, along with collaboration across the project team. The ideal candidate will have 3–5 years’ experience in VoiceXML IVR technologies and advanced speech recognition design, plus hands-on work

Qualifications

• 3–5 years’ experience in VoiceXML IVR technologies.
• 3–5 years’ experience in Advanced Speech Recognition solution design.
• 1+ year experience in grammar design, development (ABNF, GRXML), and testing.
• 3+ years’ experience in speech tuning and grammar analysis.
• Proficient written and verbal skills. Strong knowledge of speech engine capabilities

Responsibilities

• Interpret and analyze business requirements to identify risks and design appropriate solutions.
• Develop and assess the capabilities and limitations of the applications and technologies and recommend alternatives and solutions.
• Provide guidance for business decisions from a technical perspective on performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Collaborate with project team members to provide input to design specifications related to speech application.
• Develop simple grammars for speech applications and understand grammar types to maximize dialog accuracy.

Title: IVR Developer

Duration: 6 to 12 months

Interview: Phone and Skype

• Experience with DTMF and Speech applications
• Expert level experience developing IVR applications (note level of complexity)
• Experience developing IVR / Speech applications using GVP Studio, VXML, and Java
• Experience with Nuance ASR or TTS
• Interpret and analyze business requirements to identify risks and design appropriate solutions
• Develop and assess the capabilities and limitations of the applications and technologies and recommend alternatives and solutions
• Provide guidance for business decisions from a technical perspective on such issues as performance, scalability, reliability, and security
• Collaborate with project team members to provide input to design specifications related to speech application.
• Develop simple grammars for speech applications
• Understand differences between types of grammars (list, pattern, etc.), benefits and when each is appropriate to maximize accuracy for a given dialog
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in VoiceXML IVR technologies.
• 3 to 5 years’ experience in Advanced Speech Recognition solution design and development.
• 1+ year experience in grammar design, development (ABNF, GRXML), and testing.
• 3+ years’ experience in speech tuning and grammar analysis.
• Proficient written and verbal skills.
• Strong understanding of Natural Language design and Directed Dialogue design techniques for speech applications
• Strong knowledge of various speech engine capabilities and tuning concepts
• Ideal candidate will have experience with Nuance and/or IBM WVS speech engines/tools
