Job summary

HCLTech is seeking a skilled OpenBMC firmware engineer to design, develop, and enhance server management firmware for next-gen platforms in Santa Clara. You will collaborate with hardware, validation, and platform teams to enable new features and support board bring-up.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in embedded firmware, strong C/C++ on Linux, OpenBMC experience, and deep knowledge of Redfish and REST APIs. Yocto, Git/Gerrit, D-Bus, and systemd familiarity are valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Electronics, Electrical Engineering, or related field.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain OpenBMC firmware components and Redfish (bmcweb) services.
• Develop and extend RESTful APIs compliant with the DMTF Redfish standard.
• Implement platform management features, hardware monitoring, health reporting, and firmware update mechanisms.
• Collaborate with hardware, platform, and validation teams during board bring-up and feature enablement.
• Debug and resolve firmware issues across Linux, middleware, and hardware interfaces.
• Participate in architecture reviews, code reviews, and technical design discussions.
• Develop customer-driven features while ensuring firmware quality, scalability, and maintainability.
• Support integration, testing, and deployment of firmware releases.
