Job summary

Seerist is seeking an Open-Source Investigations Analyst to join the Research & Collections team in a hybrid Reston, VA role. You will verify sources, assess provenance, and evaluate reliability to support the platform’s threat and risk intelligence.

You'll work with cross-functional teams to translate user information needs into research priorities, track misinformation, and help shape product features while maintaining rigorous source coverage and security awareness.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of open-source research and investigative methods.
• Proficiency in a language other than English; Sinitic languages valued.
• Analytical mindset to identify information, connect details, and judge uncertainty.
• Solid understanding of security and geopolitical issues affecting business and operations.
• Technical aptitude for handling large or complex datasets and tools.

Responsibilities

• Discover, investigate, and assess sources relevant to Seerist users.
• Investigate misinformation sources and networks and their influence.
• Track changes in the information landscape and platform implications.
• Support product development and testing with research insights.
• Understand users’ requirements and translate into priorities.
• Explain source coverage and limitations to customers and prospects.
