Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support direct and indirect care in the operating room. You will assist the surgeon, prepare sterile fields, set up instruments, and help ensure timely, accurate case setup.

Qualifications include BLS per AHA within 3 months, an Associate degree or a Certificate in Surgical Technology, and 1+ years of experience preferred. Sign-on and relocation bonuses are available.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 3 months per American Heart Association (AHA).
• Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate in Surgical Technology.
• 1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely accuracy.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before induction.
• Set up cases so back table and Mayo are organized for others.
• Provide needed items and avoid unnecessary openings.
• Maintain smooth, fluid motions and avoid redundancy.
• Anticipate case needs (e.g., two Mayo), collaborate with the surgeon.
• Run Mayo independently and adapt to surgeon’s technique and preferences.
