Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect care, assisting surgeons and performing operative and invasive procedures. Candidates should have an Associate's degree or a Surgical Technology certificate and a BLS certification within 3 months.

One plus year of experience is highly preferred, with sign-on and relocation bonuses available. The role is on-site in a surgical care environment.

Qualifications

BLS within 3 months - American Heart Association (AHA).
Associate’s degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate in Surgical Technology.
1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

Prepare for surgeon-specific operative/invasive procedures with timely accuracy and efficiency.
Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional.
Set up sterile field and scrub before induction; organize Mayo stand and back table.
Maintain readiness of items and resources; minimize unnecessary openings.
Assist in case sequencing and adaptation to surgeon preferences; maintain smooth workflow.
Perform first scrub, first assist, second scrub, and second circulator duties as required.
Close out procedures including dressing application, transfer and turnover.
Communicate and collaborate with the surgical team to anticipate needs.
