Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect care by assisting surgeons and performing operative procedures. Candidates should have an Associate’s degree or a certificate in Surgical Technology and BLS certification.

At least 1 year of experience is preferred, with on-time readiness to support a variety of surgical cases. Responsibilities include sterile setup, instrument readiness, and collaboration with surgeons to ensure efficient operative flow and patient

Qualifications

• BLS within 3 months of hire.
• 1+ years of experience highly preferred.
• Education: Associate's degree or a Certificate in Surgical Technology.

Responsibilities

• Prepare for surgeon-specific procedures with timely, accurate setup.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and sutures are complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and scrub before induction.
• Arrange back table and mayo stand for smooth transitions.
• Collaborate with the surgeon to anticipate needs during case.
• Run mayo independently when required and adapt to surgeon preferences.
• Assist in case routing and turnover activities and post-case dressing.
