Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technologist to provide direct and indirect care, assisting the surgeon and performing operative/invasive procedures.

The role requires BLS within 3 months, an Associate’s degree or a Certificate in Surgical Technology, and 1+ years of experience are highly preferred. The position emphasizes efficient instrument handling and teamwork within a fast-paced surgical unit.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 3 months is required.
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or a Certificate in Surgical Technology is required.

Responsibilities

• Preparation for surgeon-specific procedures, ensuring sterile setup and readiness.
• Set up sterile field and be scrubbed prior to induction.
• Assist with case setup and back table organization; provide necessary instruments.
• Collaborate with surgeon to anticipate needs and adjust as necessary.
• Perform in first scrub, first assist, and other circulating roles as needed.
• Assist with case closing activities and turnover.
