Job summary

Carle Health is seeking a Surgical Technician to assist in direct and indirect patient care, patient safety, and operative procedures in the operating room. The role involves setting up sterile fields, preparing instruments, and supporting the surgical team through various cases with attention to detail and efficiency.

Qualified candidates will have an Associate's degree or certificate in Surgical Technology, BLS certification within 3 months, and 1+ year of experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• BLS certification within 3 months (AHA).
• Associate's degree in Surgical Technology or a certificate in Surgical Technology.
• 1+ years of experience highly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Preparation for surgeon specific operative/invasive procedures that is timely, accurate, effective and efficient.
• Ensure instruments, equipment and suture are appropriate, complete and functional.
• Set up sterile field and be scrubbed prior to induction.
• Set up case so that another can step in back table and mayo organized.
• Anticipate case needs and collaborate with surgeon to adjust as necessary.
• Scrub on simple to complex procedures and run mayo independently as needed.
