Job summary

ChristianaCare’s Heart Failure Unit in Newark, DE is seeking a Registered Nurse (RN) to join a 36-bed post-critical care cardiac unit, including 12 beds for post-operative open-heart and LVAD patients. The RN will provide advanced assessment, hemodynamic monitoring, medication administration, patient education, and early detection of deterioration.

The ideal candidate has at least 1 year of RN experience, with BLS; Delaware RN licensure or eligibility.

Qualifications

• BSN preferred; commitment to obtaining BSN within three years of hire.
• Minimum of one year of RN experience required.
• Previous stepdown experience preferred.
• Previous critical care experience preferred.
• BLS required; ACLS preferred.
• Delaware RN licensure or eligibility for licensure in Delaware.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive nursing care to high-acuity cardiac patients.
• Care for patients with chest tubes, surgical drains, central venous catheters, and pacing wires.
• Perform advanced assessments and continuous hemodynamic monitoring.
• Administer medications and educate patients and families.
• Early detection of changes in patient condition and intervene as needed.
