Job summary

Accenture is seeking an experienced Knowledge Modeler / Ontologist to design and govern enterprise ontologies for knowledge graph initiatives. The role bridges business stakeholders, data engineering, and AI/ML teams, translating complex domains into rigorous semantic models.

You will lead ontology lifecycle, apply W3C standards, and support ontology-guided information extraction from unstructured data. Hybrid role with client travel up to 20-80% in the US.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of hands-on experience in ontology engineering, knowledge modeling, or a closely related semantic web discipline.
• Minimum 3 years demonstrable experience delivering domain ontologies in an enterprise or consulting context.
• Bachelor’s in Information Science, Computer Science, Library Science, Linguistics, Philosophy, or a related field.

Responsibilities

• Lead ontology lifecycle from requirements gathering to deployment.
• Design T-Box structures and contribute to A-Box hydration patterns across data sources.
• Create and evolve ontologies, taxonomies, and vocabularies using OWL, RDF, RDFS, SKOS.
• Map relational databases into semantic frameworks and build knowledge graphs.
• Coach SMEs and stakeholders in developing competency questions to guide ontology scope.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering, AI/ML, and Business teams to ensure alignment with business goals.
