Job summary

Accenture seeks an experienced Knowledge Modeler/Ontologist to drive domain ontology design, governance, and delivery for enterprise knowledge graph initiatives. You will bridge business stakeholders, data engineering, and AI/ML teams, translating complex domains into semantic models for intelligent applications.

Hybrid role with travel to client locations (20-80%). Minimum 5 years in ontology engineering and delivering domain ontologies in enterprise settings.

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 years of hands‑on experience in ontology engineering, knowledge modeling, or a closely related semantic web discipline
• Minimum 5 years demonstrable experience delivering domain ontologies in an enterprise or consulting context
• Bachelor’s in Information Science, Computer Science, Library Science, Linguistics, Philosophy, or a related field

Responsibilities

• Lead the full ontology lifecycle: requirements gathering, conceptual modeling, formal specification (OWL 2, RDF, SKOS), validation, deployment
• Design T-Box structures and contribute to A-Box hydration patterns across data sources
• Apply and uphold naming conventions, URI strategies, modular ontology architecture principles
• Create and evolve ontologies, taxonomies, and vocabularies using OWL, RDF, RDFS, SKOS
• Map relational data to semantic frameworks and build knowledge graphs for reasoning and analytics
• Collaborate with NLP teams on ontology-guided information extraction
• Ensure models align with business goals, governance, and regulatory requirements
• Coach SMEs and stakeholders in developing competency questions
