Job summary

Z Modular in Killeen, TX is seeking a skilled Welder to join our fabrication team. You will weld components using MIG, TIG, and arc processes, read blueprints, and ensure welds meet precise specifications for modular building systems.

This full-time, onsite role requires 3 years of welding experience, high school diploma or equivalent, and a strong commitment to safety. Candidates with welding certificates are preferred and must be able to lift up to 80 lbs and stand for long periods.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environments.
• Welding certificate preferred.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong working knowledge of welding processes, tools, and materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld symbols accurately.
• Skilled in using measuring tools; able to add and subtract fractions.
• Committed to workplace safety and adherence to PPE requirements.
• Excellent balance, hand-eye coordination, and manual dexterity.
• Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies using measuring tools and fixtures.
• Examines workpieces and verifies conformance to specifications using precision measuring devices.
• Welds a variety of metals and alloys including aluminum, stainless steel, and cast iron.
• Clamps, tacks, and grinds parts to achieve required configurations prior to final welding.
• Determines appropriate equipment and welding methods based on technical drawings and material properties.
• Monitors welding processes to prevent overheating, warping, or distortion of parts.
• Operates manual or semi-automatic welding equipment including MIG, TIG, and arc welding systems.
• Reads and interprets blueprints, work orders, and specifications to plan welding operations.
• Develops templates and models based on engineering drawings for accurate fabrication.
• Operates metal shaping, straightening, and bending machinery as needed.
• Promotes and maintains safe work practices in compliance with company policies and OSHA standards.
• Makes full-time, predictable onsite attendance an essential job function.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
