Job summary

Z Modular, a division of Zekelman Industries, is seeking an experienced welder for its Chandler, AZ facility. You will perform welding operations in flat, vertical, or overhead positions, read blueprints, and ensure parts meet specifications using MIG, TIG, and arc welding processes.

Ideal candidates have a high school diploma or equivalent, 3 years of welding in manufacturing, and the ability to lift up to 80 lbs while maintaining safety standards.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• 3 years of welding experience in manufacturing, fabrication, or construction environments.
• Welding certificate preferred.
• Eligible to work in the United States.
• Strong knowledge of welding processes, tools, and materials.
• Ability to read blueprints and interpret weld symbols accurately.
• Skilled with measuring tools and fractions.
• Compliant with PPE requirements and safety standards.
• Good balance, hand-eye coordination and dexterity.
• Capable of lifting up to 80 lbs and standing for extended periods.

Responsibilities

• Welds components in flat, vertical, or overhead positions.
• Lays out, positions, aligns, and secures parts and assemblies using measuring tools and fixtures.
• Examines workpieces and verifies conformance to specifications using precision devices.
• Welds various metals using MIG, TIG, and arc methods.
• Clamps, tacks, and grinds parts to achieve required configurations.
• Selects equipment and welding methods based on drawings and material properties.
• Monitors welding processes to prevent overheating and distortion.
• Reads blueprints and work orders to plan welding operations.
• Develops templates/models from engineering drawings for fabrication.
• Operates metal shaping, straightening and bending machinery as needed.
• Maintains safety practices and on-site attendance.
