Homeland LLC in Birmingham, AL is seeking a Technical Systems Specialist for a 6-month/1,040-hour contract-to-hire opportunity. The role is 100% onsite, Monday–Friday, focusing on SQL/SSRS reporting, application support, and data workflows.

Banking/financial services experience is highly preferred. The candidate will troubleshoot systems, build reports, automate processes, and collaborate with stakeholders to translate business needs into technical solutions.

Qualifications

• 3+ years of professional experience in systems analysis or related tech roles.
• Hands-on SQL experience with querying, reporting, and data extraction.
• Experience with SSRS or equivalent enterprise reporting tools.
• Experience troubleshooting business applications and systems.
• Understanding of data movement, integrations, and workflow automation.

Responsibilities

• Provide hands-on technical and application support for business-critical systems
• Write, modify, and troubleshoot SQL queries for reporting, data extraction, and operational needs
• Create, maintain, modify, schedule, and distribute SSRS reports
• Troubleshoot system and application issues and take ownership through resolution
• Monitor applications, scheduled jobs, files, and recurring technical processes
• Work directly with business stakeholders to translate needs into technical solutions
• Support data extraction, data movement, file processing, scheduled jobs, and system workflows
• Identify opportunities to automate manual processes and improve workflows
• Support integrations between internal systems and third-party applications
• Assist with the support and maintenance of banking, mortgage, and lending technology
• Support Encompass or other LOS as needed; partner with teams and vendors on enhancements
• Maintain technical documentation and communicate across teams
