Collins Aerospace is seeking a Staff Tech Lab Assistant/Inspector in Cedar Rapids, IA to support engineers on a range of builds and inspections onsite. You will read drawings, handle soldering-related tasks, assemble cables, and document inspection results with precision.

This role requires hands-on expertise and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. The position emphasizes mentorship of junior staff, adherence to quality processes, and strong communication.

Qualifications

• AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience.
• Inspection experience
• Planar Process Planar Inspection
• Non-planar Process and inspection
• Crimp Process
• Cable Assembly Process Inspection
• Foundations Engineer Drawing Review
• Torque Tool Training

Responsibilities

• Works under minimal supervision to provide technical build support to engineers and technicians on a variety of tasks.
• Performs moderately complex hands on technical tasks that contribute to the completion of engineering projects and products.
• Assists with the training and mentorship of lower level technicians/lab assistants.
• Reads prints, drawings, and schematics as needed to assist in the build process.
• Documents changes and inspection results as required for a wide variety of products.
