Job summary

IndyGo, a municipal corporation of Indianapolis, seeks a Recruiter I to support high-volume talent acquisition for Coach Operators, Mechanics, and corporate roles. This onsite position collaborates with the Director of Talent Acquisition to execute sourcing, screening, and recruitment plans.

The role emphasizes union-represented positions, maintains candidate pipelines, coordinates onboarding, and builds community relationships through job boards, social media, colleges, and referrals.

Qualifications

• Associate degree preferred; an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
• Two years of recruiting, interviewing, marketing, advertising, and public interaction experience preferred; union-represented environment preferred.
• SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP / PHR or SPHR certification preferred.
• Prior experience with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and other HRIS is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Identify, source, recruit, and screen qualified candidates.
• Partner with hiring managers to develop recruitment plans, clarify required job skills, create job descriptions and competencies, and select sourcing strategies for each position.
• Assist in developing interview questions at the request of hiring managers.
• Review resumes against job requirements; conduct phone screens or assessments; present qualified candidates to managers.
• Maintain candidate pipelines and recruit through active and passive sourcing for high-volume staffing.
• Coordinate onboarding activities with teams.
• Build community relationships via social media, referrals, colleges, and outreach.
• Track recruitment expenses and analyze effectiveness of strategies.
