Job summary

Mass General Brigham Incorporated seeks a Surgical Technologist for Nantucket Cottage Hospital. The role collaborates with the RN circulator and surgeon to ensure safe, sterile perioperative care and proper instrument handling within the operating room.

The ideal candidate holds an associate degree in Surgical Technology with certification and preferably one year of OR experience, plus current BLS/CPR. Availability for day shifts and on-call may be required at Nantucket Cottage Hospital.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent accredited program.
• Certified Surgical Technologist credential or eligible to obtain within 12 months of hire.
• One year of Operating Room experience preferred.
• Current BLS/CPR certification or within one week of hire.

Responsibilities

• Maintains a safe operating room environment per hospital policy and standards.
• Assists in preparing and understanding supplies, instruments, and equipment for procedures.
• Maintains aseptic technique and sterile field integrity throughout procedures.
• Participates in surgical time-outs, counts, and instrument handling as directed.
• Provides support to RN circulator and surgeon during operations and cases.
