Job summary

1575 Nantucket Cottage Hospital is seeking a Surgical Technologist to support the RN circulator and surgeon in the operating room. You will help maintain a sterile field, prepare supplies, and ensure patient safety throughout procedures.

Ideal applicants hold an accredited Surgical Technology program with certification, or are eligible for certification within 12 months, and maintain BLS/CPR. On-call, evening, and weekend work may be required.

Qualifications

• Associate degree in Surgical Technology or equivalent program with certification.
• Certification must be obtained within 12 months if not yet certified.
• BLS/CPR certification required within one week of hire; AHA & ARC accepted.
• Surgical Technologist Certification required for SEIU Grade 13.
• Experience in an operating room is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Maintain sterile field and aseptic technique.
• Prepare and handle instruments and supplies for surgical procedures.
• Assist surgeon and perioperative team; participate in surgical time outs and debriefings.
• Adhere to AST and OSHA standards and infection control policies.
• May float to other units as needed and assist in maintaining supplies.
