Job summary

System One is seeking a Solar Tech II in Thorndale, TX to safely install, operate, maintain, and repair solar systems ensuring optimal performance and safety. This role requires hands-on technical work and collaboration with team members across maintenance and operations.

Responsibilities include testing, troubleshooting, and reporting; supporting NERC/NEC safety standards; and traveling to multiple sites as needed to ensure continuous power generation and compliance.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Associate degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Current Nevada State PV Installers license, NABCEP Certification, or Electrical License preferred.
• Unrestricted driver’s license in good standing required.
• 2+ years as maintenance electrician or 4+ years as multi-craft maintenance technician with electrical work in an industrial setting; or 2+ years in power generation/OM.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ensure all tasks are performed safely and by site procedures.
• Complete LOTO, JSA’s, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Perform data collection and prepare reports.
• Monitor maintenance contractor activities and ensure corrective actions.
• Conduct electrical testing including insulation and thermal testing.
