Job summary

System One in McCamey, TX is seeking a Solar Tech II to install, operate, maintain and repair solar systems, ensuring performance and regulatory compliance. The role involves diagnosing issues, collaborating with a team, and driving improvements in operations.

The position is on-site with a 40-hour week. Applicants should have a high school diploma, relevant electrical experience, and a willingness to travel to multiple sites; NV energy licenses or NABCEP are a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Associate degree in Engineering or related field preferred.
• Current Nevada State PV Installers license, NABCEP Certification, or Electrical License preferred.
• Unrestricted driver’s license in good standing required.
• Minimum 2 years’ experience as a maintenance electrician or 4 years as a multi-craft maintenance technician with electrical work in an industrial setting; or 2 years’ experience in power generation, transmission, or distribution Operations and Maintenance.
• Experience in solar operations and maintenance a plus.
• Willingness and ability to travel to multiple sites.
• Proficient with computers and office equipment.

Responsibilities

• Test, maintain, and troubleshoot solar PV electrical and mechanical equipment.
• Ensure that all tasks are performed safely and by site operating procedures.
• Complete Lock-Out-Tag-Out (LOTO), JSA’s, Permit to Work, and job-specific documentation for safe inspection, maintenance, and repairs.
• Proactively identify opportunities for process improvements and operational efficiencies.
• Perform data collection and prepare reports to meet reporting requirements.
• Monitor maintenance contractor activities and ensure corrective actions are implemented.
• Conduct electrical testing, including insulation and thermal testing.
• Document all work and generate reports accordingly.
• Use Microsoft Office tools for communication, presentation, and documentation.
• Interface with third-party contractors and vendors.
• Support nontraditional operating hours for maintenance and emergent issues.
• Operate mobile equipment such as mowers, forklifts, tractors, excavators, and motor vehicles.
