Job summary

SOLV Energy, LLC seeks an Assistant Superintendent to lead construction and maintenance efforts on utility-scale solar and storage projects. The role is based full-time on a Cornwell, IL jobsite with Midwest travel, coordinating with owners, contractors, and design professionals to deliver projects safely and on schedule.

Responsibilities include CPM scheduling, subcontractor coordination, quality control, and reporting.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience (2-4 years as General Foreman).
• Extensive field construction experience at supervisory level.
• Knowledge of OSHA laws.
• Knowledge of job scheduling, planning, expediting and cost control.
• Ability in problem-solving.
• Strong sense of urgency.
• Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the U.S. without requiring employer sponsorship now or in the future.

Responsibilities

• Plan, organize, and direct activities concerned with construction and maintenance of structures, facilities, and systems.
• Confer with supervisory personnel, owners, contractors, and design professionals to discuss and resolve issues.
• Attend and participate in Safety Training Program and enforce safety procedures.
• Verify subcontractor certificates of insurance.
• Prepare and maintain CPM job schedule.
• Recruit, organize, train, direct and coordinate field construction team including subcontractor’s direct hire work.
• Assure work quality - set standards for quality control.
• Order materials and tools and plan supply allotment to avoid crises.
• Prepare necessary reports (time sheets, work orders, daily reports, invoice approvals).
• Document and complete all punch lists timely; review drawings and submittals.
• Lead pre-job conferences and subcontractor meetings; perform start-up testing and turnover.
