Job summary

RTX is seeking a Manager, Software Engineer in Tucson, AZ to lead a section of Software Engineering professionals responsible for all aspects of engineering design through to production of test solutions. You will supervise 15–20 engineers, set goals, mentor staff, and ensure program contracts align with department objectives.

The role requires a STEM degree and 8+ years of software design experience, with C/C++/C# in a Windows environment and a U.S. government security clearance eligibility.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a degree in Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics (STEM) and a minimum of 8 years of prior relevant experience.
• Eight (8) or more years of professional software engineering design experience using C/C++/C# or other closely related software languages, working with Windows Based computing environments.
• Experience in factory/laboratory test instrumentation, electronics, and software (Ex. oscilloscopes, power supplies, digital multimeters).
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. government issued security clearance. U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are eligible for a security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Supervise and lead a team of approximately 15-20 section members.
• The Section Lead role is anticipated to be approximately 15% of the work week, with the remainder of the work week charged to program contracts, within the TS organization.
• Mentor junior and mid-career software engineers.
• Drive SW test solutions readiness and robustness in field or production environments.
