Job summary

WEIR in Newton, MS is seeking a Shotblast Operator for the 3rd shift (7:00 pm – 5:15 am). You will verify casting hardness, load/unload castings, and visually inspect for defects to ensure quality.

You will maintain a clean work area, support continuous production flow, and strictly follow MIIs and safety standards. Onsite role with minimal travel.

Relevant forklift experience and ability to operate cranes and hoists are required.

Qualifications

• Must have high school diploma or GED.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic math, and communicate effectively.
• Forklift experience and ability to safely operate machinery such as cranes, hoppers, and hoists.
• Physical capability to walk, bend, stand, and manually move parts for 90% or more of the workday.

Responsibilities

• Verify the hardness of castings and ensure compliance with all Manufacturing and Inspection Instructions (MII).
• Safely load and unload castings onto trays for processing, using manual handling or approved material handling equipment and lifting aids as required.
• Visually inspect each casting for defects, properly sort castings by pattern and part number, and identify parts requiring weld repair for quarantine.
• Maintain a clean, organized work area and support continuous production flow to meet operational goals.
• Follow all applicable MIIs, work instructions, and safety standards rigorously.
• Perform other duties within or outside the department as business needs require.
• Minimal travel; role is onsite.
• Demonstrate 100% commitment to zero harm safety culture.
