Job summary

Weir in Newton, MS is seeking a Onsite Casting Technician for the 3rd shift (7:00 pm - 5:15 am). You will verify casting hardness, safely load/unload, and inspect/sort castings to ensure quality. You’ll support production flow and uphold strict safety standards in a high-throughput environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma or GED, ability to read/write and perform basic math, and forklift/crane operation experience. LOTO and manufacturing exposure are a plus.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Ability to read, write, perform basic math and communicate effectively.
• Forklift experience and ability to operate cranes, hoppers, and hoists.

Responsibilities

• Casting Verification: Verify the hardness of castings and ensure compliance with Manufacturing and Inspection Instructions (MII).
• Loading & Unloading castings onto trays for processing using manual handling or equipment.
• Inspection & Sorting: Visually inspect castings, sort by pattern/part number, and identify parts for weld repair quarantine.
• Production Support: Maintain a clean, organized workspace and support production flow to meet goals.
• Compliance & Safety: Follow MIIs, work instructions, and safety standards rigorously.
• Additional Duties: Perform other duties as needed.
• Travel: Minimal to no travel; role onsite.
• Safety: Demonstrate commitment to zero-harm culture.
