Job summary

Abode Services is seeking a Temporary Shelter Monitor in Napa, CA to maintain health and safety of shelter residents and assist with daily operations. The role involves greeting visitors, logging incidents, enforcing guidelines, and supporting participants with their needs.

Qualifications include a High School diploma or equivalent and at least 6 months of social services or customer service experience. A valid CA driver’s license and clean DMV record are required.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent experience required.
• 6 months of social services or customer service experience.
• Use of personal vehicle and proof of valid California Driver's License and current auto insurance, along with a clean DMV record, is required.
• Flexible schedule to work evening and weekend hours as needed.

Responsibilities

• Answer calls and oversee front desk activities; greet visitors and volunteers.
• Inspect facility; sign in participants; enforce shelter guidelines.
• Document resident behavior and needs; log issues and incidents.
• Respond to participant requests and resolve conflicts.
• Communicate with service coordinators, shelter coordinator, and shelter manager on critical incidents.
• Maintain SOPs, safety, and professional boundaries for participants.
• Complete participant intakes and exit paperwork.
• Assist with unit turnover and daily cleaning when residents are away.
• Communicate non-judgmentally with participants; work with agency staff.
• Participate in trainings and supervision; attend CPR/first aid and crisis intervention sessions.
