Job summary

Endeavors seeks a Shelter Monitor in Albuquerque, NM to oversee resident safety and program compliance. You will maintain accurate records, respond to incidents, and assist with intake and daily operations in a secure, structured environment.

The role requires a High School Diploma or GED and at least 2 years of experience with low-income or at-risk populations. A valid driver’s license and daily access to a vehicle are required, with travel as needed.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• 2+ years’ experience working with low-income/at-risk/homeless individuals or vulnerable populations preferred.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean record.
• Must have daily use of a vehicle.
• Willingness to travel to various locations as needed.
• Must not pose a direct threat or significant risk to safety.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe, structured environment while maintaining professional boundaries.
• Maintain positive relationships with clients and staff.
• Maintain accurate written records and incident reports.
• Document all serious incidents completely and promptly.
• Consult with supervisor on residents’ needs and behaviors.
• Utilize positive behavioral management techniques; verbal redirection.
• Assist residents with problem solving and issue processing.
• Monitor shelter areas for policy and protocol compliance.
• Respond to residents’ requests and inquiries.
• Conduct orientation and assist with intake, beds, and supplies.
• Brief volunteers and staff as needed.
• Identify and respond to residents in crisis to ensure safety and appropriate service response.
