Job summary

Capgemini Engineering in Austin, TX is seeking a highly skilled motherboard debug engineer for onsite work at the manufacturing site. You will reduce backlog by diagnosing and resolving complex server-class motherboard issues across hardware, firmware, and networking domains.

The role requires strong x86 server knowledge, high-speed design validation, signal/power integrity, Linux debugging, and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of x86 server architecture.
• High speed electrical design validation and testing.
• Signal integrity and power integrity concepts.
• Familiar with PCIe, DDR, USB, Ethernet interfaces.
• Proven expertise in board-level troubleshooting of server-class motherboards.
• Linux-based debugging and strong networking fundamentals.
• Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Perform in-depth debugging and failure analysis of complex server-style motherboards.
• Drive resolution of board-level issues to reduce backlog and improve product throughput.
• Troubleshoot system-level and component-level issues across hardware, firmware, and networking domains.
• Utilize hardware test equipment and Linux-based tools for motherboard debugging and validation.
• Collaborate with engineering and test teams to upscale, analyze, and solve critical issues.
• Document debug findings, root cause analysis, and corrective actions clearly and effectively.
• Communicate status, risks, and technical insights to both onsite and remote teams.
• Support occasional visits to headquarters for deeper collaboration, debugging, and team alignment.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams to understand and improve test and failure detection processes.
