Job summary

AMD is seeking an engineer for the Server Platform Hardware Design team to assist with PCBA-based logic design and debugging of AMD processors and chipsets in Austin. You will collaborate with power, mechanical, firmware, and validation teams to deliver production-worthy hardware and to support customers with system-level expertise.

The role emphasizes high-quality documentation, cross-functional teamwork, and leadership for junior engineers, with a focus on debug and testing across hardware

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in a technology-related field.
• Strong board-level debugging and lab skills.
• Experience with Cadence tools and PCB design is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive specifications for board-level and system-level products.
• Design board-level products using Cadence tools.
• Debug prototypes to achieve production-worthy products.
• Oversee the manufacturing process at outside vendors.
• Write and review detailed technical documentation.
• Provide technical expertise and leadership for less experienced engineers.
• Support product engineering in resolving customer problems requiring system-level expertise.
• Provide debug, applications support, and design assistance to customers, field applications, and sales.
