Job summary

Ledgent Finance and Accounting is seeking a driven Staff Accountant for a manufacturing partner in the Bloomington area. The role focuses on accurate financial reporting, month-end close, and strong controls. You will prepare journal entries, analyze accounts, support budgets and audits, and collaborate with leaders to improve processes.

Onsite, full-time, with a salary range of $75,000 to $90,000 per year. Requires 4+ years of experience and strong GAAP knowledge.

Qualifications

• Associates or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• 4+ years of progressive accounting experience.
• Strong GAAP knowledge and financial reporting.
• Experience with month-end close and reconciliations.
• Advanced Excel skills (Pivot Tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Prepare and review monthly journal entries, accruals, and adjusting entries.
• Perform month-end, quarter-end, and year-end close activities.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate discrepancies.
• Prepare and analyze financial statements and supporting schedules.
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
• Maintain general ledger integrity and ensure accurate financial reporting.
• Support external audits, tax preparation, and compliance requirements.
• Analyze financial data and provide recommendations to improve processes and controls.
• Assist with ERP system enhancements, automation initiatives, and process improvements.
• Ensure compliance with GAAP and internal accounting controls.
