Job summary

Sightpath Medical is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance & Accounting team in Bloomington, MN. This onsite role focuses on month-end close, journal entries, reconciliations, fixed assets, and supporting audits. Ideal candidates have 3–5 years of experience and a solid understanding of US GAAP, with strong Excel and GP ERP proficiency.

You will collaborate with the Controller and accounting staff, take on increasing ownership, and contribute to process improvements as the company grows.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years of accounting experience.
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Hands-on month-end close experience.
• Solid understanding of U.S. GAAP.
• Experience with balance sheet reconciliations.
• Fixed asset accounting experience.
• Strong Excel skills (PivotTables, lookups, large data).
• Experience with an ERP system; GP is a plus.
• Detail-oriented with ability to meet deadlines.
• Strong communication skills across the organization.

Responsibilities

• Assist with monthly and year-end close, meeting deadlines.
• Prepare journal entries: accruals, prepaid amortization, cash activity.
• Reconcile balance sheet accounts and resolve discrepancies.
• Support fixed asset accounting.
• Record daily cash activity and perform bank reconciliations.
• Maintain general ledger integrity.
• Identify unusual activity and investigate with team.
• Support annual audit and tax prep.
• Assist with process improvements to increase accuracy.
• Support accounting for multiple entities as the company grows.
