RTX in Andover, MA is seeking a Quality Engineer to baseline factory metrics, drive APQP initiatives, and lead cross-functional improvements. The role requires a STEM degree, 5+ years in quality engineering, and the ability to obtain/maintain a DoD security clearance.

The position emphasizes root cause analysis, implementing corrective actions, and maintaining quality systems in a DoD context. On-site role with comprehensive benefits and clearances.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s in STEM and 5+ years quality engineering experience.
• Manufacturing process experience (assembly, inspection, test).
• Root-cause analysis and corrective actions experience.
• Quality metrics development and verification for root cause actions.
• Interpretation of drawings, work instructions, and tool control.

Responsibilities

• Baseline factory metrics (scrap, rework, FPY); forecast demand and identify improvement opportunities.
• Engage MFG DPT teams to align on top priorities and drive containment and corrective actions.
• Conduct process walks and operator observations to reduce process variation.
• Lead APQP initiatives (PFMEA, control plans, SPC) using baseline metrics and forecast.
• Identify supplier escapes and coordinate with Supplier Quality Management for containment.
• Verify and validate improvements to confirm effectiveness.
