Job summary

Scripps Health in San Diego, CA is seeking a Manager of Payroll to oversee all payroll processing and supervise the payroll staff, with onsite work Monday through Friday at the 4S Ranch area. The role ensures compliance with federal, state and local tax regulations, prepares payroll tax returns, and maintains GL interfaces while supporting finance with reporting and analysis.

Qualified candidates have an AA in business or accounting, Certified Payroll Professional preferred, strong Excel,

Qualifications

AA Business or Accounting related degree or equivalent.
Certified Payroll Professional certification is noted as Preferred.
Strong Excel skills required.
In-house payroll and tax filing experience preferred.
Healthcare industry experience preferred.
Lawson payroll software experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Oversee all Payroll processing and manage Payroll staff.
Maintain compliance with local, state, and federal tax regulations.
Prepare and file payroll tax returns and ensure timely transmission of payments.
Lead development and maintenance of general ledger interfaces; support financial reconciliation.
Provide data reporting and analysis support to Finance; manage department budget.
