Job summary

Gatik in Santa Clara, CA, is seeking a Senior Systems & Safety Engineer for Autonomy to own the ISO 26262 lifecycle and overall safety concepts for the Level 4 autonomous system. You will architect high-availability, fail-operational mechanisms and define system-level safety targets, ensuring every autonomy release satisfies the driverless safety case.

This onsite role requires a strong safety background.

Qualifications

• FSC/Technical Safety Concept for autonomous system
• Lead HARAs, STPA, FMEA, FTA analyses
• Derive safety requirements from vehicle goals to software
• MRM architecture and fail-operational strategies
• Define SPIs and Safety Metrics
• Collaborate with Autonomy Software, Middleware, Infra teams

Responsibilities

• Define FSC and Technical Safety Concept (TSC) for Gatik’s Level 4 autonomous system up to ASIL D.
• Lead system-level HARAs, STPA, FMEA, and FTA analyses across autonomy modules.
• Derive safety requirements from vehicle-level goals down to software components with traceability.
• Architect fail-operational/mode strategies including degraded modes and pull-over behavior.
• Define and monitor Safety Performance Indicators to assess stack maturity and readiness.
