Job summary

RTX, in partnership with Collins Aerospace, is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - DevOps / Infrastructure for an on-site role in Sterling, VA. You will own and optimize the CI/CD pipeline, automate build and test processes, and work across virtualization and cloud-related tooling to support real-time diagnostics.

Qualified candidates have a STEM degree with 5+ years of experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years, and hold an active U.S. security clearance.

Qualifications

• Typically requires STEM degree with 5+ years of relevant experience or an advanced degree with 3+ years.
• Active and transferable U.S. government security clearance is required before start.
• Experience deploying, configuring, and supporting CI/CD pipelines.
• Experience with GitLab, Jira, Confluence, Coverity, Nexus, Artifactory, and Splunk.
• Experience with Ansible, Terraform, Puppet, etc.
• Experience with Python, Bash, and PowerShell scripting.
• Experience with VMware, Proxmox, or similar virtualization.
• Experience with CI for real-time testing in virtualized environments.
• Basic networking knowledge (TCP/IP, VLANs) and configuring network devices.

Responsibilities

• Support and develop automation solutions to build and deploy code efficiently.
• Own the program’s CI/CD pipeline, optimizing integration and delivery.
• Troubleshoot build chains and CI/CD tooling issues.
• Identify manual processes and propose automation improvements.
• Consider the entire CI/CD infrastructure when making changes.
