Job summary

Johnson Controls on-site Commercial Installer role involves setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems for commercial clients. The position includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment when needed, with emphasis on safety and schedule adherence.

Candidate must read blueprints, follow wiring diagrams, coordinate with police/fire and other stakeholders, and may mentor junior installers on larger projects. High school diploma required; technical training a plus.

Qualifications

• Ability to read blueprints and schematic drawings.
• Ability to operate hand and power tools.
• Ability to communicate and provide excellent customer service.

Responsibilities

• Installs devices; dismantles and reconstructs equipment as required by customer or Tyco Integrated Security.
• Works safely to avoid injuries, damage to property, and cleans up installation debris.
• Contacts customers prior to installation to verify schedule.
• Prepares estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follows wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Tests system operation to the signal-receiving center to establish service.
• Reads building, electrical and sprinkler blueprints as required.
• Coordinates installations with police/fire departments and handles required records.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coaches and mentors less experienced installers.
