Job summary

Johnson Controls is seeking a Commercial Installer to work on-site with commercial customers, setting up and programming Integrated Security fire and security systems. The role includes dismantling and reconstructing equipment as needed and coordinating with emergency services.

You will read blueprints, follow schematic wiring diagrams, and test system operation, ensuring safety and high-quality installations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required; technical training a plus.
• Able to read blueprints/schematic drawings.
• Experience with electrical/electronic equipment and safe tool use.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Install devices and dismantle/reconstruct equipment as required.
• Work safely to prevent injuries and clean up debris.
• Contact customers before installation to verify schedule.
• Prepare estimates per supervisor instructions.
• Follow wiring diagrams and hook-up procedures.
• Test system operation and communicate with the monitoring center.
• Read building and electrical/ sprinkler blueprints as needed.
• Coordinate with police/fire departments for notifications.
• May manage installation teams on larger projects.
• Coach and mentor less experienced installers.
