Job summary

Ultium Cells LLC in Warren, Ohio seeks an experienced Safety Operations Lead to manage a team of safety professionals and an on-site medical department. You will develop safety strategies, ensure regulatory compliance, and collaborate across EV assembly, battery production, and manufacturing areas to enhance safety practices.

The role requires 5+ years in safety, a Bachelor’s degree in safety or related field, and CSP or similar certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in safety or related field required.
• 5+ years of safety-related experience required.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or other certification preferred.
• Leadership experience required.
• Industrial Hygiene Air Sampling experience preferred.
• PSM experience required.
• Experience with Combustible Dust.
• Ability to lead teams and influence change.
• Bilingual (Korean/English) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of safety professionals at the Warren complex.
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies aligned with regulatory requirements.
• Collaborate across all site functions including EV assembly, stamping, injection molding, body fabrication, paint, facilities and logistics.
• Partner with UAW safety teams to maintain safety protocols.
• Communicate effectively to drive adoption of safety concepts and practices.
• Identify safety risks and drive proactive problem-solving.
• Lead continuous safety and industrial hygiene improvements.
• Execute corporate safety requirements and initiatives.
• Support adoption of Global Workplace Safety System and site-specific standards.
• Deliver site health and safety goals and training programs.
• Participate in Emergency Response Planning and coordinate with regulatory agencies.
