Job summary

Ultium Cells LLC seeks a Safety Operations Lead to oversee a team of safety professionals and the on-site medical department. You will develop strategies aligned with GM safety goals and drive continuous improvement across EV battery production operations in Warren, OH.

The role requires a Bachelor’s in safety or related field, 5+ years of safety experience, and CSP certification or equivalent. Strong leadership and bilingual Korean/English abilities are a plus in this onsite position.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in safety or related field.
• 5+ years of safety-related experience.
• Certified Safety Professional (CSP) or equivalent.
• Experience leading safety teams and initiatives.
• Industrial Hygiene air sampling experience is a plus.
• Familiarity with Process Safety Management (PSM).
• Experience with combustible dust programs.
• Bilingual Korean/English language skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and manage a team of safety professionals on site.
• Develop and implement comprehensive safety strategies aligned with GM goals.
• Collaborate across operations, maintenance, facilities, and logistics.
• Partner with union safety groups to ensure compliance and positive relations.
• Drive proactive safety improvements and regulatory adherence.
• Audit, observe, and report safety performance; manage emergency planning.
• Support learning, orientation, and safety training initiatives.
• Interface with regulatory agencies as needed.
