Job summary

The role also mentors Safety Techs on projects and supports audits, training, and incident investigations to reduce risk and improve safety performance.

Qualifications

• Advanced understanding of potential site hazards and methods to mitigate these.
• Strong computer skills (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic understanding of conflict resolution strategies.
• Advanced communication skills including delegation, follow up, and client interfacing.

Responsibilities

• Actively promotes core values and culture through everyday decisions.
• Inspect facilities, equipment and task areas to identify hazards.
• Monitor safety performance in the workplace and provide feedback.
• Review site JHAs for completion and proper controls.
• Ensure PPE is utilized as required.
• Conduct and document site safety inspections and client audits.
• Perform duties as competent person for scaffolding, excavation, fall protection, etc.
• Direct and manage safety activities on assigned jobsites with BU safety input.
• Conduct health and safety training programs and maintain records.
• Investigate accidents and near misses to prevent recurrence.
• Maintain PPE inventory and communicate needs to site management.
