Southern Industrial Constructors, INC. in Columbia, SC is seeking a Safety Specialist to drive on-site hazard mitigation and health initiatives by partnering with frontline employees and site supervision.

This role identifies, evaluates, and eliminates workplace risks while enforcing regulatory compliance and company safety standards. Additionally, the Specialist serves as a mentor for Safety Techs assigned to the project.

Qualifications

• 3–5 years craft experience (not including helper) or safety-related experience.
• 4 years site safety experience or craft supervisory experience in lieu of safety experience.
• OSHA 30 hr & 510 and 500 or willingness to obtain after 5 years of safety experience.
• NCCER CSSS or other approved professional certifications/BCSP certifications encouraged.

Responsabilités

• Actively promotes Mission First, People Always culture through daily interactions and decisions.
• Inspect facilities, equipment and task areas to identify safety hazards.
• Monitor safety performance and provide feedback to employees and supervision.
• Review site JHAs for completion and hazard controls.
• Ensure PPE is utilized as required and conduct safety inspections.
• Conduct and document site safety inspections and client audits as required.
• Mentor Safety Techs and direct safety activities on assigned jobsites.
• Investigate causes of accidents and injuries and document findings.
