Job summary

Southland Holdings in Austin, TX seeks a Safety Professional to support the safety department across our organization. The role emphasizes implementing safety policies, leading meetings, audits, and training to protect workers on construction sites.

Ideal candidates will have 4+ years in construction safety, OSHA certifications, and the ability to travel/relocate as needed. This full-time position offers comprehensive benefits and opportunities to improve site safety programs.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of construction experience, preferably water/wastewater, pipe, concrete, tunneling.
• OSHA 30 hour in Construction certification.
• HAZWOPER 40 hour is a plus.
• CHST, STSC, OSHA 510/500/502, ACOE EM-385-1-1 training a plus.
• First Aid/CPR certified.
• Experience with Fall Protection, Scaffolding, Steel Erection, Excavation.
• Willing to travel/relocate.
• ASP and CHST required.

Responsibilities

• Lead daily safety meetings to promote awareness and compliance.
• Conduct regular safety audits and inspections on construction sites.
• Collaborate with project teams to develop site-specific safety plans and ensure compliance with safety regulations.
• Complete detailed accident reports and conduct thorough accident investigations.
• Ensure proper use of PPE and enforce adherence to safety procedures.
• Monitor safety programs and recommend improvements as needed.
• Provide safety training and orientation for new employees and contractors.
• Develop JHA and EHS documentation.
• Stay current with OSHA regulations and evolving safety standards.
• Promote a safety-conscious culture within the company.
