Job summary

RECON is seeking a Site Safety Officer to ensure on-site health and safety program compliance for environmental remediation and earthwork projects. The role focuses on implementing safe work plans, conducting daily field safety activities, and maintaining accurate reporting of incidents and hours worked.

The position is based on-site in Questa, NM, with travel requirements and heavy emphasis on Training, documentation, and collaboration with project teams to uphold RECON safety standards.

Qualifications

• Ten or more years of construction safety experience on environmental remediation or earthwork projects.
• Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Occupational Health and Safety, or Environmental Health and Safety preferred or equivalent experience.
• CSP, CHST, OSHT or similar designations preferred.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily safety operations for construction projects and oversee Safety Technicians.
• Lead training and enforcement of safety best practices and incident prevention.
• Manage Behavior-based Safety Program and document observations for Safety Trends system.
• Coordinate with Project Managers to integrate safety into project plans and goals.
• Distribute safety policies and perform weekly job-site safety audits.
