Job summary

RECON is seeking a Site Safety Officer for on-site duties in Questa, NM. You will oversee daily safety operations, supervise safety staff, and champion adherence to Health & Safety Plans, client requirements, and regulatory standards on environmental remediation and heavy civil projects.

Required are 10+ years in construction safety, relevant certifications (CSP/CHST/OSHT preferred), and strong MS Office skills. Travel is expected with monthly rotation; competitive salary with benefits offered.

Qualifications

• Ten+ years of construction safety experience in environmental remediation, soil, or earthwork on-site.
• Average of 24 hours formal safety training annually over the past 5 years.
• Knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1904, 1910 & 1926 methods and practices; MSHA parts 40-104 preferred.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily safety operations for construction projects and supervise Site Safety Technicians.
• Lead safety training, enforce best practices, and promote safe work conditions across crews.
• Maintain and implement site-specific safety plans, permits, and health and safety policies.
