Job summary

IES seeks a Safety Coordinator in Sterling, VA to implement and administer safety policies across projects, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and customer requirements. The role focuses on safety training, inspections, and incident investigations to prevent injuries and incidents.

This position leads safety trainings (OSHA 10/30 and more), conducts audits, mentors stakeholders, and coordinates with site management to advance the company’s Safety Culture and compliance with safety

Qualifications

• Must have strong knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR safety standards and state regulations.
• Experience delivering safety training and leading site safety improvements.
• Ability to perform hazard assessments and conduct root-cause investigations.

Responsibilities

• Support IES and site safety policies, procedures and programs and comply with federal and state standards.
• Perform documented safety audits/inspections to verify compliance with safety policies and standards.
• Deliver safety training and new-employee orientation (including OSHA 10/30) as required.
• Coordinate root-cause investigations on incidents and near-misses; implement corrective actions.
• Prepare safety reports and summaries for stakeholders and management.
• Lead and mentor stakeholders to uphold the IES Safety Culture and coordinate with site management.
• Engage in OSHA inspection processes and support ongoing safety improvements.
